Hyde Park is one of the largest public parks in the United Kingdom, which also makes it one of the largest urban parks in the world.

If  Hyde Park was joined with Kensington Gardens it would create more than 250 hectares of park - full of grassland, lakes, ponds, statues and fountains of many different styles.
Hyde Park was founded by Henry VIII in 1536 and was used as a royal and private hunting ground of the monarchy, but in 1637 and until today, it was opened to the public so that all people could enjoy this park. You can even see all the small monuments that this urban park is home to, including the memorial to Diana, Princess of Wales.

In addition, you may also see the guards of the Household cavalry riding on horseback through the park or make friends with a squirrel or two.
