Changing the Guard
Changing the Guard
Ther Coldstream Guards (or Coldstream Royal Guard Regiment) had the honour of being one of the first British grenadier regiments from 1650 and is operational to this day. Currently, as well as operating as a royal guard regiment, they are deployed in active military operations around the world and carry our ceremonial duties in London and at Windsor Castle.
It is possible to watch the Changing of the Guard parade at Buckingham Palace.
The parade lasts approximately 30 minutes and takes place every day at 11:00am in the summer.
The rest of the year, the ceremony is held every other day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday), except when there are storms (the event is usually cancelled if there is extreme bad weather).
